Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork: Planning A Day At the Smorgasburg

You must go to Smorgasburg if you’ve never been. The best part about it is that there is something for everyone! There are 100+ vendors at this food market which makes any foodie instantly fall in love.

The options can definitely be overwhelming, and for this reason you should have a game plan for sure. So, here are five tips on how to enjoy your Smorgasburg experience.

  1. Make One Loop Around
I get it. You’re seeing and smelling all these wonderful flavors, and you just want to dig in. Don’t! Just stop yourself! There are countless other stalls that you still need to visit.

  2. Bring Cash
This way you don’t spend too much, and it’s nice to set a limit for yourself. But if you are really dying to have another sweet treat, take out your card. BUT, this is only for emergencies!

  3. Go with a Small Group of Friends
I’ve gone with large groups before and it seems nice, but it becomes so hectic. And it definitely makes it harder to make a choice.

  4. Make a Strategic Plan
“You wait on the Ramen Burger line, while I’ll wait in the dumpling line. We will meet in the center. Hands in-okay, BREAK!” It makes the whole process smoother if you all have a plan, instead of wasting time.
Try to get an appetizer (if you are like me you will get two instead of one), main course and dessert.

  5. Bring a Blanket with you Just in Case
Trust me, your tush will be grateful!

Smorgasborg is currently held: Friday @ WTC from 11:30-7pm, Saturday @ Willamsburg from 11am-6pm, Sunday @ Prospect Park from 11am-6pm.

Ramen Hood You Saved Me With Your Rich Flavors

This ramen bowl was so savory and delicious. I’ve never had a garlic ramen bowl before and after having this dish with it’s heavenly garlic flavors, I’m not sure if I can go back to just regular ramen. The garlic kick made the noodles that much better. And oh, and don’t get my started on those noodles. They were a little bit thicker than the average noodle, and super soft to chew. Their broth though is all mushroom based, so if you are allergic you can’t have the ramen.

There are plenty appetizers that you can choose from. They have: broccoli with a soft chili glaze, bahn mi poutine, cucumber salad, ahi ‘tuna’ crisps and avocado toast. As you can see their appetizer options have quite a range, so don’t hold back!

All in all, I wish I could go here all time, but this pop up shop is closing in a month. So, all my NYC pals, go as quickly as you can. Thanks for all the rich flavors Ramen Hood. If I go to California, I’ll hit you up!

MOUTH FEELS: I MAKE NOISES WHEN I EAT

If I could marry food I would, because it would be so easy. None of this swiping left or right or waiting for a response or, wondering does it like me back? Food is  always there and it’s pretty upfront the moment you meet it. You either like it or you don’t. And then you start to wonder, “will my friends or family like this one? Ugh, I really hope they do because it’s my favorite.”

And of course, we get to the most intimate part. You know what I’m talking about, when you’re not sure if you should be making so much noise, but all the while thinking “Damn, this is good”. You then take a photo with your love because it just makes sense to. And all that you’re thinking is “Wow, how did I get so lucky?”

Ya, that’s what food means to me.
